Sometimes Change is Good
by Margaret Ann Lembo
Sometimes change is good. There, I’ve said it! Actually, change is always good because that is the nature of our reality. Our reality is that life is not stagnant; it is an ever-flowing stream of energy. It is when there is no change and energy is stuck that life is not so good. It is when we are stagnant and doing the same old thing, day after day, over and over again, that we search for something peaceful or better. Disease is just energy that is stuck, plain and simple. So, now I must change my statement to, change is always good! There, now I’ve said that again!
Why do we resist change so strongly? It appears to me that we seem to constantly resist change in our life. When bigger changes are happening around us, we often kick and scream, or rant and rave, or cry and whine. Is it because we feel that we are not in control of our lives and our realities? Ha! Who do we think we are? And, whom do we think we are fooling? We create our own reality. It is our own thoughts, beliefs, words and actions that create every little thing around us daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. A growing awareness of our thoughts, beliefs, words and actions, provides more ease and comfort in the changes that are happening around us because we are conscious! Yes, it is truly that simple. Our own lack of consciousness creates the stress of not knowing that the changes are happening, which makes us feel that we are not in control. The fear of the unknown is one of the greatest fears.
Why is it that certain changes seem too much to handle? There are some changes that feel more like a Cosmic 2x4 hitting us upside the head. So, what is that about? Didn’t see that one coming? Aha! It’s time to WAKE UP. The Cosmic 2x4 appears in our lives when we have not been paying attention to the proverbial ‘writing on the wall.’ This is the kicker. We pray for guidance. We ask our angels and God/Goddess to show us signs. We go to counselors, friends and family for opinions and advice. During this process, we have probably been having dreams, receiving messages from every source there is and probably there was writing on the billboard or on a big truck you passed on the highway that would categorize itself as the ‘writing on the wall.’ Aaah, but we were too busy asking for guidance and essentially sleeping our way through life by just doing the motions and ignoring all the clues. This is like being stuck on a hamster wheel. It reminds me of the movie, Groundhog Day, which teaches a valuable lesson. If you haven’t seen that movie or don’t remember it well, you may want to watch it again and get the point.
We wake up every day with the gift of living life in a sacred compassionate way. We have an opportunity every day to do ‘it’ again, and hopefully better and better everyday. This is when we finally understand how to be a better person on the planet. Every day we can continue to improve our thoughts, words, actions, deeds, and intentions for ourselves and others. Every day we can move the energy a bit differently. Let us become more present in our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, our actions and our words.
There is a spiritual practice of shifting our assemblage point. Those of you who have read or studied Carlos Castenada, Toltec teachings and other spiritual masters of energy, may be aware of the value of consciously changing your surroundings and the ‘order’ of your life to initiate changes in life. One may go on retreat, experience a vision quest or fast. Perhaps taking a different route to work or changing the order of your day if you have a habitual way of living could change your assemblage point. And, then there are things like hurricanes that will shift the assemblage point of large groups of people. Talk about a slap upside the head from Mother Nature.
Most of the people, who are reading this, live in South Florida. At the moment I am writing this, we are experiencing the aftermath of Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne, which hit our area. (There were 4 hurricanes that hit Florida this past month.) This purification by Wind and Water from Mother Nature cleared our negativity on many levels while creating a shift in the assemblage point of the masses in this area. The assemblage point was shifted when the reality as we once knew it came to a complete halt and we had to ‘hunker down’ in the dark cave of our personal space and wait in the sweltering heat through the storm. As a community, we experienced a ‘dark night of the soul’ and came out the other side with realizations. Some people realized the significance of the purification and what it meant to them in their personal world. And perhaps, some did not.
We may use this extreme cosmic 2x4 experience as a gift and an opportunity for growth, or we can roll over and go back to sleep. It is up to each of us individually. It is between Creator and us. Now is the time (actually it is always time) to go inside and observe ourselves to see what we can consciously change about our behavior, thoughts, words, and actions and so on in order to make a difference on this magnificent planet. I also feel that this should have woken up the gratitude we should/could always feel for all the blessings in our lives. Did the lack of fresh or frozen produce and the thousands of food choices usually so easily accessible to us, help us to realize how easy we have it and how blessed we are? Did the lack of electricity, and in some cases running water, help us remember the ease and comfort we have in our lives which we often take for granted? Well, if not, I recommend that we get down on our knees and go inside our hearts and feel, acknowledge and give gratitude for the abundance in our lives.
May we all WAKE UP! May we all appreciate what we do have and stop whining for what is not. May we learn our lessons well. May we have compassion and understanding for others and ourselves. May we welcome change in our lives and recognize that it is change that actually is the creative energy that drives our futures. May our changes and our creations align with the Creator’s plan for Mother Earth and all the beings of this planet.
Many Blessings,Margaret
