Changing Seasons
by Margaret Lembo

I always enjoy the changing of the seasons as they are special sacred times. It seems we have lost some of the connection with the equinoxes and solstices in our modern society. Perhaps it is because we buy our food in grocery stores instead of growing our own food. Or perhaps we are just too busy to even notice our sky. Here in South Florida, the changing of the seasons are more subtle in this tropical climate vs. the northern and western areas. Regardless of the reasons why or why not, I feel it is important to connect with Mother Earth beneath us and her changing body as well as Father Sky above. With conscious connection, we are providing ourselves with the opportunity for balance and well-being on all levels, including spiritually.

Here at The Crystal Garden, we enjoy providing our friends and customers with the opportunity to connect with the equinoxes and the solstices. Ceremony is one avenue to make the connection. This year for the Fall Equinox we will celebrate the energies by building a Medicine Wheel on Friday, September 22 which is the actual day that the Sun enters Libra at 1:28 pm.. We will build our wheel at 7:30 p.m. so mark your calendar and call us if you plan on attending. The following day, Saturday, September 23, we are offering a full day of free lectures. Aura Imaging Photography will also be available.

Autumn is my favorite season. When I lived up north I especially enjoyed the changing of the leaves and the briskness in the air. It also brings the anticipation of some very special upcoming holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas.

In celebration of the changing season, I went shopping for The Crystal Garden while I was visiting the Four Corners area. The Four Corners are where Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona meet making the four directions. This place is filled with the energy of the Dine (Navajo), Ute, Acoma, Hopi and the Anasazi (the Ancient Ones) as well as many more Native American Tribes. The high desert southwest is filled with a beautiful culture of people who are very connected with the soil beneath their feet, the sky above, the food they grow, the cattle they raise and the beauty of the mountains.
The art of silver jewelry, kachinas, dreamcatchers, rattles and drums, to mention a few is in great abundance everywhere. Of course, I just had to bring some of that wonderful energy back to all of us. The boxes of merchandise are being unpacked. Come by and see the beautiful new merchandise . . . after all, Christmas is coming!!!

Blessings and Light,

Margaret
