Oh Great Mother
It has been my observation over
the years, that we have many different perceptions of mother. Our mothers, who brought us
up, did the best they knew how based on their life experiences and the tools they were
given. I was fortunate to have the experience of a nurturing mother who was always there
for me and truly loved me unconditionally. Gratitude to her and all the mothers of this
planet.
Growing up Catholic (a positive experience for me), the month of May
was a time when we honored and celebrated the Blessed Mother Mary. We had a beautiful
procession, all of us dressed in our beautiful white Communion dresses, to crown Mother
Mary with roses. Mother Mary, in my heart, is the Mother of us all, not just to Jesus the
Christ. And yet, regardless of ones religious upbringing, there is a Universal
Mother, who loves us, nurtures us, watches over us and all in all "mothers" us.
No matter what our mother experiences have been, we may still tap in to the love of the
Universal Mother. It is up to each of us individually to allow for the Universal Mother
energy to be revealed to us.
There is one Mother we all have in common as human beings and she is
Mother Earth. This magnificent planet we live on supports our every step with her solid
ground/body which we walk and live upon. She feeds us and gives us healing medicine with
her plants and animals. She provides oxygen for us to breath using her mammoth breathing
machine, her trees and green plants. She quenches our thirst with her waters.
During the month of May, when we are called to celebrate Mothers Day, let us expand
our celebration. Let us celebrate our Mother in the many forms in which she manifests
herself in our lives.
Happy Mothers Day!
Blessings,
