In the Beginning, There was
the Word
by Margaret Lembo
It is simple. We create with
our words. You know it, I know it and yet how well do we know it? Do we really listen to
what we say? Here are some examples of things we may say and not even realize it. 'This is
killing me'; 'What a pain in my neck'; 'You are making me crazy'; 'I'm such a jerk' and so
on. I say to all of that, "Cancel Clear!" What I mean is erase those words,
clear the screen, use the delete button and start over. Perhaps more appropriately, one
can express emotions more carefully using truth of what you may be feeling. How about
'This is upsetting to me'; 'My feelings are hurt'; ' I must set some boundaries with you'
and 'Oh, I guess I made a mistake' and so on.
As we become aware of what we are putting out there with our words, we
may create a better, healthier and a more balanced reality for ourselves and those around
us. Simple self-observation and 'word patrol' can shift these unconscious patterns with
words.
One of my favorite songs is: Spiraling into the Center. Here are
the words:
Spiraling into the center, the center of a Dream
Spiraling into the center, the center of a Dream
We are the Weavers, We are the Woven One
We are the Dreamers, We are the Dream
We are the Weavers, We are the Woven One
We are the Dreamers, We are the Dream
Once we truly comprehend and
integrate how powerful our words (and thoughts) are, we will truly be able to consciously
create our reality. It is also imperative that these words (and thoughts) are from our
hearts. With love and positive intent, the possibilities are truly unlimited. So instead
of talking about what needs to be changed or different, let's talk about what we want or
envision in our lives. What do you see or imagine?
The Community Garden is one example. When I first wanted to start that,
I did not focus on why it couldn't happen. I focused on what it would look like and drew
it out. I made a list of what we would need to do, what plants we could plant, what
materials and tools we would need. I began talking and writing about what I envisioned. I
took action. I prayed for other people with similar interests and loving intent to show up
and play/work in the garden too! And so it is!
You can do anything and be anything you can imagine or dream.
Blessings,Margaret
