A small
tree or shrub (smallest of the tea tree family), with needle-like leaves
similar to cypress, with heads of sessile yellow or purplish flowers. The
essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs.
The name is derived from its local usage as a type of herbal tea, prepared
from the leaves. |

Parasites,
thrush, cystitis, yeast infection, asthma, bronchitis, catarrh, coughs,
sinusitis, tuberculosis, whooping cough, colds, fever, flu infectious
illnesses such as chickenpox or measles, tonsillitis, upper respiratory
infections, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, abscess, acne, athlete's foot,
blisters, burns, cold sores, oily skin, dandruff, herpes, insect bites,
oily skin, rashes (diaper rash), spots, warts, wounds (infected), mouth
ulcers, cuts, abrasions, insect bites, nail infections, jock itch,

Blends Well with: |
Lavender, basil, bergamot,
lemon, chamomile, eucalyptus, juniper, ravensara, thyme. clary sage,
rosemary, oak moss, pine, geranium, marjoram and spice oils,
especially clove and nutmeg. |

Cautions:
Non-toxic,
non-irritant, possible sensitization in some individuals. Avoid contact
with eyes and keep out of the reach of children. Also, do not take
internally; use as a mouthwash as mentioned here is permitted as long as
it is not swallowed. For application to sensitive areas such as near the
eyes, mouth, or genitals, use a diluted form of tea tree oil; always
dilute for use on a baby's skin. Pregnant women should be cautious in
their use of tea tree oil. |
