Chamomile is an herb that is steam distilled to produce an oil with a beautiful blue color.
Botanical Name:	Matricaria chamomilla
Origin:	Some of its countries of origin are England, Germany, South America and France.
Fragrance:	Sweet, fruity, herbaceous
Therapeutic Properties:	Calmative, Antispasmodic, Analgesic, Antiseptic, Antibiotic, Sedative, Antiflammatory, antidepressant, carminative, nervine
Uses:	Treats diarrhea, sciatica, gout, flu, and is a digestive and sleep aid. Relieves colds, asthma, fever, colic, gallstones, headaches, muscle cramps, tonic, spasms, constipation, pain and increased appetite. Effective in the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis. It is helpful in treating acne, dermatitis, and eczema as well as inflamed and sensitive skins. For internal inflammation, Chamomile is very useful for arthritis and inflamed joints as well as inflamed conditions of the digestive tract (colitis, gastritis and diarrhea) due to the fact that tension and anxiety are often the cause of these conditions and Chamomile is very calming on an emotional level. It has also been used in the treatment of depression. Chamomile, is well known for being a suitable oil for treating children.
Blends Well with:	Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli, Rose, Benzoin, Orange blossom, Bergamot, Marjoram, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, and Clary Sage.
Cautions: May cause dermatitis in some people. Chamomile is a member of the daisy family, and anyone allergic to other members of the daisy family, including ragweed, should steer clear of this oil. If unsure, consult your doctor or allergist. Do not use for long periods of time. Do not use the essential oil during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant.
