A familiar biennial plant, 12-24 in high, with a grooved, fleshy, erect stalk, skinny pinnant leaves, and umbels of white flowers. it likes to grow in moist ground near the sea.
Botanical Name:	Apium Graveolens
Origin:	India, and also the Netherlands, China, Hungary and the USA.
Fragrance:	Fresh and warm with a hint of spice.
Therapeutic Properties:	Anti oxidative, anti rheumatic, antiseptic (urinary), antispasmodic, aperitif, depurative, digestive diuretic, carminative, chologogue, hepatic, nervine, sedative (nervous), stimulant (uterine), stomachic, tonic (digestive), and aphrodisiac.
Uses:	Is used in bladder and kidney complaints, digestive upsets, and menstrual problems; the leaves are used in skin ailments. It is known to increase the elimination of uric acid and is useful for gout, neuralgia, and rheumatoid. A sedative and tonic effect on the Central Nervous System is useful for nervous disorder, resulting in a feeling of joy.
Blends Well with:	Angelica, basil, lavender, pine, tea tree, oak moss, cilantro, and other spices.
Cautions: Nontoxic, nonirritant, possible sensitization. Avoid during pregnancy.
