Dreams and Dream Interpretation

with Margaret Ann Lembo

Are We the Dream or the Dreamer?

The world as we know it is a result of dreams. It is the waking dream as well as our sleeping dreams that create reality. It is the consciousness of our thoughtforms that create the dream. It is the consciousness of our dreams that create reality. As we have free will, we can only truly utilize the free will if we are conscious. If we are sleeping and aren’t conscious of the dream, whether we are awake in this reality or not, then we actually are foregoing the use of our Divine Birthright, free will.

Therefore, it makes sense – common sense – to work diligently toward awaking our consciousness so that we may truly live life fully, completely and within each given moment. In order to truly awaken our consciousness, we need to observe our consciousness. Observing one’s consciousness is taking into account that in every moment, unless we are adept, we are having a thought. We are thinking . . . about something. Sometimes the thoughts are repetitive. Sometimes the dreams we have are repetitive. And most times we aren’t even consciously aware that we are thinking or dreaming. It’s like those moments when we are driving, when we get to our destination and realize that we weren’t really present in the car and don’t remember much from the moment we left our homes to the moment we arrived. It’s an unconscious blur. We may not do that all the time, but perhaps often enough that it’s time to wake up and be more present in the moment.

Metaphorically, that statement of “we don’t remember much from the moment we left home to the moment we arrived,” can also relate to our arrival here on this Planet. Home being the other side when we are more connected with our consciousness as a spiritual being, vs. being in the body, being connected with the personality and the outside world. Allowing ourselves to become aware of what our intention was before we jumped into this body for this lifetime would be the way to find our true life’s purpose, ya know, the whole point of being here to begin with! But I digress just a bit . . .

In order to enable us to use our free will in alignment with the Divine Will, we must observe our consciousness. This will wake up the remembrance of Who We Truly Are and how we might activate fulfilling our Divine Purpose. There are many techniques and practices we can do to wake up. In addition to meditation, past life regression therapy and the many other tools available, let us pause to contemplate the power of dreaming. Dreaming happens in the nighttime sleeping state as well as the daytime waking state. All that we do and all that we are is a dream. And we create the dream, just as a producer creates a play or a movie. The thing that changes the play or the movie is the words and thoughts (script), actors (people), and scenery/location (home, work and neighborhood.)

Observing and interpreting the thoughts, symbols and signs around us does help to get clear and hear Divine Guidance. The angels and our guides send us clues as answers to our prayers all the time. Sometimes they give us the answers to our prayers so blatantly that it is amazing that we can’t see it, know it and act upon it! This is where the waking up process can be challenging, because it’s right there in front of us and we often stay stuck within the old way of thinking or a consciousness that was programmed into us by society, family and friends.

Before we can act upon the signs, we must first observe them. It is very easy. Intend to observe the signs and you will! When we make an intention, our focus is on our intention. Thinking the thought,“ I want to observe the signs and be able to interpret them, “ makes it so. As we interpret the signs, they become like pieces of a puzzle falling into place or like the cylinders of a lock open the doorway into expanded consciousness. There is a theme to the clues. There is a theme to the dreams we have when we sleep. They bring us messages to help us live a full and happy life here on this Planet. The time has come to pay attention. We must make it our intention to pay attention!

Night time sleeping dreams may provide us a way to work out things that are bothering us that we often don’t want to consciously deal with or acknowledge to ourselves and others. Perhaps those feelings are just a bit too much to handle, so we work them out symbolically in the dream. If we are overcome with emotions but are shoving them down because we don’t want to deal with it, we may have dreams of water, waves, boats, bathtubs or showers. Water symbolizes the emotions. If we dream about being stuck in an elevator or a small place, we may feel stuck in our life and don’t want to admit it. Dreams will reveal clues to what is really bothering us or needs some attention. Often the dreams will repeat or return with a similar theme. Once we find out what those symbols or the dream is trying to tell us, then we must pay attention and act upon it. Our angels or our Higher Self are trying to get through to us.

There are many books to look up the meaning of symbols. There are books on dream symbols, the meaning of animals appearing in our lives as well as the dictionary, as it is an amazing tool for interpretation. Share your dreams with a good friend. They often can immediately hear the message in the dream. Go inside yourself with the breath and intention . . . . wait and breathe on the symbol, dream or question . . . . and you will hear, see, or know the answer. It takes time, and patience and trust in one’s own inner guidance.

May we all learn to observe ourselves and our dreams. May we all hear, know and understand the many messages around us. May we all realize that life doesn’t have to be hard! Get the Easy Button and use it! May we expand our dream to make this world filled with Peace, Love and Harmony!

See you in the Dreamtime!
